Under Head Chef Nick Orr, the 947AD Restaurant has been awarded two AA rosettes for food, and serves the very best in contemporary fine dining. Set in the very oldest part of the hotel, the restaurant's main features are the two ancient wood burning fires, located either end of the restaurant. The fires are surrounded by stone fireplaces, many hundreds of years old, one of which is etched with medieval "witch marks" to ward off evil spirits.
Hotel and dinner guests can enjoy canapés and pre-dinner drinks in the hotel's intimate guest lounge, which also offers a roaring log fire for those cold winter nights.
Also attached to the hotel is The Eagle and Child pub, a very popular local "watering hole". The Eagle and Child offers an enticing selection of traditional pub food, served either in the pub itself, or its large conservatory.
