The 947AD Restaurant has been awarded two AA rosettes for the quality of its food, serving the very best in contemporary fine dining.
Set in the oldest part of the hotel, which dates back to around 947AD and so named, the restaurant’s main features are the two medieval fireplaces located at either end of the restaurant. One of the fireplaces has been etched with a ‘witch mark’ placed there, perhaps over a thousand years ago; to ward off the witches and other evil spirits thought to enter a building through the chimney.
Hotel and dinner guests can enjoy pre-dinner drinks in the hotel’s intimate guest lounge, which also offers a roaring, log fire for those cold winter nights.
Many of the restaurant’s ingredients are sourced locally, within 20 miles of the hotel so you can dine on the Cotswold’s finest free-range meat, organic vegetables and specialist cheeses.
